All projectsI started Parkdex because I wanted to visit all 117 provincial parks on Vancouver Island and needed a way to keep track of them. It has grown into the index I use to decide where to go next.
Today, Parkdex maps roughly 200 national, provincial, regional, and island parks. You can create a profile, search the index, save places to a wishlist, mark the parks you have visited, track your completion percentage, and earn badges for exploring more of the island.
What comes next
I am building the Android app next. The plan is to replace manual check-ins with GPS-validated visits, send an arrival notification when you reach a park, and let you capture a BeReal-style Polaroid while you are there.
